How time flies...
It has been years, I mean YEARS since I started the nurf.com project. The site has transformed from Raving Magazine to Personal web hosting services for friends and family to victim of fraudulent activity -- yes, my domain was shutdown by the FBI (years ago). Honestly, I had nothing to do with it.
Later, I jump started the website up again and tried my hand at entrepreneurship. Nurf Productions was born and the wake of self-employment and freelance hell took over my life. Now, with my exploration of Drupal taking me into the world of G-men and the Gov, I've taken this project to an altogether different level: personal blogging and photo gallery. Not quite sure what will become of the site yet, but it will be in flux over the next few months.
We're using Drupal version 6.21 right now. Odds are I'll migrate to Drupal 7.x relatively shortly. I'm quite intrigued to see where the CMF has gone. Very exciting stuff though, what with the new UI and the integrated Field API, D7 will prove to be an excellent framework for the future. Everyone in the community has been pouring countly hours and millions of joules of energy into transforming the PHP application into an immensely awesome program.
Nurf has merged!
Hello Friends.
William Roboly here; your friendly neighbourhood webbie!
In the last few months, some pretty incredible developments have come about. As some of you may know, I've joined forces with some good friends to start up a new consulting firm. http://www.openject.com is the brain child of http://www.openject.com/colan Colan Schwartz, a coding champion in the Drupal community, along with http://jamonation.com/ Jamon Camisso, we've gathered our skills to tackle projects more effectively and concisely.
I have enjoyed being a freelancer for the last 3 years and overcoming the trials and tribulations of self-employment have strengthened my resolve and emboldened my knowledge and experience of web development and design. Though exciting and always challenging, I have come to appreciate the ease and comfort of relying on a team of like-minded and specialized co-workers who can augment my strengths as I manage my weaknesses.
In the next few months, we will be doing a great deal of work establishing the course of our new company's direction and working out the process kinks. As with all new beginnings, we are catching up to our imagination and creative inspirations. Our first order of business will be satisfying our clients needs and as time permits we will update the new website to reflect our design ethics.
I wish you all a fantastic year '08 and look forward to a successful new venture with my friends at http://www.openject.com Openject Consulting.
